WestCONnex Action Group's Kathryn Calman lives in Beverly Hills, south west Sydney. She's been dealing with the people behind WestCONnex for over two years, and has kept a record of what residents were promised for the King Georges Road Interchange upgrade versus what was delivered. It stands as a warning to other communities: don't believe what you're told by WestCONnex.

Residents' group Leichhardt Against WestCONnex (LAW) recently met with the Sydney Motorway Corporation (SMC) on 17 November 2016 about plans to create a mid-tunnelling construction site for the WestCONnex M4-M5 Link at 7 Darley Rd, Leichhardt. From the 11th to 13th November, The Corner Gallery in Stanmore will feature an exhibition of photography highlighting the beauty and importance of Sydney Park and its trees, with photography by acclaimed photo-journalist Lorrie Graham, sculpture by visual artist Gabrielle Bates and drawings by Maryanne Coutts, Head of Drawing at the National Art School.

Last month, the makers of the Tunnel Vision documentary about the successful campaign to stop Melbourne's East-West Link came to Sydney for their film's premiere. They met with members of WestCONnex Action Group to talk about the battle to save Sydney from the similarly disastrous WestCONnex tollway. Take a look.

On Friday 7 October, police forcibly dragged residents away from the WestCONnex construction compound on Euston Rd, Sydney Park, so that contractors for the Sydney Motorway Corporation could start destroying trees at the park.

Sydney Park has an incredible history. 25 years ago it was a freshly covered over tip. Grassroots community action was responsible for planting the trees we have today. This is the story of People Environment and Community Efforts (PEACE) and how the trees we're fighting to save today came to be.
