Save Sydney Park: Adopt A Tree Exhibition

Adopt-A-Tree_Hero_Composite_small.jpg

The precious trees along the boundaries of Sydney Park are in need of rescuing. WestConnex will destroy over 1000 trees to build a 7-lane highway on Euston Road and a 6-lane highway on Campbell Street. These and other plans will reduce our beloved Sydney Park to an island in a sea of traffic.

The exhibition highlights the beauty and importance of Sydney Park and its trees, with photography by acclaimed photo-journalist Lorrie Graham, sculpture by visual artist Gabrielle Bates and drawings by Maryanne Coutts, Head of Drawing at the National Art School.

At the gallery you can find out what is in store, and join the adopt-a-tree project, where individuals and families sign up to get to know and protect one particular threatened tree.

The exhibition runs from 10am - 4pm, Friday 11th November - Sunday 13th November.

There will be a Reception and talk from Professor Emeritus of Landscape Architecture, Helen Armstrong AM, about the deeper impact and meaning of the current destruction on Saturday 12th November from 1pm to 3pm.
