RESIDENTS are now occupying a flat in a forcibly acquired apartment block at 27 Wattle St Haberfield that is due to be demolished for the $16.8 billion WestCONnex tollway project.

Filmmaker Russ Herman documented the occupation and destruction of much-loved family homes in the Ashfield and Haberfield areas. He's spoken to locals, former residents, those arrested and more to find out why they're standing up to the senseless destruction of their community for WestCONnex.

TWO residents who occupied the roof of a forcibly acquired home in Haberfield to protect it from WestCONnex destruction this morning have been arrested and charged with trespass.

RESIDENTS are now occupying the roof of a forcibly acquired home at 1 Wolseley St Haberfield after it was fenced off by WestCONnex contractors in preparation for demolition.

RESIDENTS are now occupying the NSW Department of Planning and Environment offices at 23-33 Bridge St Sydney in protest at the corruption of the planning processes surrounding the $16.8 billion WestCONnex toll road, and to call for a public inquiry into the project.

On 22 March 2016, Premier Mike Baird came to Haberfield to open a patisserie. Local residents were insulted that he’d come to their community to eat cake as he was preparing to send in the bulldozers to destroy it, so they decided to make their feelings known. Leo Sullivan filmed parts of the protest.
