TWO residents who occupied an apartment in a forcibly acquired block in Haberfield to protest its destruction for WestCONnex were arrested yesterday and charged with trespass.

RESIDENTS are now occupying a flat in a forcibly acquired apartment block at 27 Wattle St Haberfield that is due to be demolished for the $16.8 billion WestCONnex tollway project.

RESIDENTS are now occupying the roof of a forcibly acquired home at 1 Wolseley St Haberfield after it was fenced off by WestCONnex contractors in preparation for demolition.

On 22 March 2016, Premier Mike Baird came to Haberfield to open a patisserie. Local residents were insulted that he’d come to their community to eat cake as he was preparing to send in the bulldozers to destroy it, so they decided to make their feelings known. Leo Sullivan filmed parts of the protest.
