Around 500 people attended the Stop WestCONnex Community Rally in Rozelle on Sunday afternoon to call for a halt to the project and its Federal funding.

WESTCONNEX Action Group has renewed its call for a public inquiry into the $16.8 billion WestCONnex toll road after two of its main contractors, Leighton Holdings (CIMIC) and Samsung, were reported to have used corrupt practices to secure billion-dollar government contracts overseas.

WESTCONNEX Action Group (WAG) welcomed Shadow Infrastructure Minister Anthony Albanese’s call for a Federal audit into WestCONnex today, but said this needed to be matched by a commitment to halt Federal funding of the $16.8 billion toll road to stop taxpayer dollars being wasted.
