WestCONnex Action Group (WAG) welcomes the decision of the NSW Public Accountability Committee Inquiry into the impacts of WestConnex to hold an extra hearing day to recall Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) and the Dept of Planning to explain their earlier evidence.

WESTCONNEX contractors were forced to abandon construction works in Sydney Park twice this morning after failing to produce any authorisation for the work when asked by residents.

In April 2016, WestCONnex Action Group joined forces with Victoria's Yarra Campaign for Action on Transport and WA's Rethink the Link to make a submission to the Senate Committee on the establishment of a National Integrity Commission. We supported it on the basis that a federal anti-corruption body would be well-placed to investigate issues related to WestCONnex, the East West Link and Perth Freight Link. A PEACEFUL protest against drilling works for the unapproved WestCONnex New M5 came to an abrupt end today after riot police were called in to Alfred St, St Peters.

ST PETERS families whose houses are being forcibly acquired for the WestCONnex toll road were devastated to learn they could lose their homes as early as next March after they received Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) letters confirming they have as little as 21 days to agree a sale price before the compulsory acquisition process starts.
