RESIDENTS are now occupying a flat in a forcibly acquired apartment block at 27 Wattle St Haberfield that is due to be demolished for the $16.8 billion WestCONnex tollway project.

TWO residents who occupied the roof of a forcibly acquired home in Haberfield to protect it from WestCONnex destruction this morning have been arrested and charged with trespass.

RESIDENTS are now occupying the roof of a forcibly acquired home at 1 Wolseley St Haberfield after it was fenced off by WestCONnex contractors in preparation for demolition.

In April 2016, WestCONnex Action Group joined forces with Victoria's Yarra Campaign for Action on Transport and WA's Rethink the Link to make a submission to the Senate Committee on the establishment of a National Integrity Commission. We supported it on the basis that a federal anti-corruption body would be well-placed to investigate issues related to WestCONnex, the East West Link and Perth Freight Link. RESIDENTS are now occupying the NSW Department of Planning and Environment offices at 23-33 Bridge St Sydney in protest at the corruption of the planning processes surrounding the $16.8 billion WestCONnex toll road, and to call for a public inquiry into the project.
